SquashSmarts

Impact
An Innovative Solution

Problem: 25% of students in Philadelphia’s public school system that start high school will not graduate on time, if at all.
Solution: 77% of SquashSmarts high school seniors have graduated on time and been accepted into college; 23% are accepted in to Careers

Problem: 8 million US kid are unsupervised after school; 75% do not seek out programs even when available.
Solution: SquashSmarts actively engages kids with the hook of squash, opportunities to travel and success, and an environment they look forward to coming to.

Problem: In a city with an obesity epidemic, Philadelphia’s public schools offer limited physical sports opportunities to middle school students.
Solution: Squash is the #1 cardiovascular sports with a ball and was rated “healthiest” by Forbes Magazine.

For the 2022-2023 School Year Program, SquashSmarts is pleased to report the following metrics and impact:

      • 117 College Acceptances (80%)
      • $514k in Federal, State, Institutional & Private Aid
    • 58% Male / 42% Female / 0% Non-Binary

    • 342 Academic Tutoring & Squash Instructional Sessions
      • 87% Student Daily Program Attendance
      • 86%  Student Annual Program Retention
